Faul, fauler, Zahnfäule...

…oder auch Karies, wie Frau Behrendt nicht müde wird, zu erklären. Seit 18 Jahren ist die gelernte Zahnarzthelferin an den Grundschulen und in den Kindergärten in Wilmersdorf unterwegs und betreibt hier Aufklärung. Vom richtigen Zähneputzen bei den Kleinsten, bis hin zum Zuckergehalt in den verschiedenen Lebensmitteln bei den Großen: auf spielerische und ansprechende Art und Weise Wissen vermitteln - so ziehen das Plüschkrokodil Kroko und Frau Behrendt derzeit wieder durch die Klassen unserer Schule. Dabei gesteht sie aber auch, dass ihr das Lächeln manchmal schwerfällt. Denn trotz der Aufklärungsarbeit, zum Beispiel auch in Familienzentren und bei Eterncafés, verschlechtert sich die Situation zumindest in Wilmersdorf. Dabei nennt Frau Behrendt auch konkrete Zahlen: bei den 0-3 Jährigen liegt die Milchzahn-Kariesquote derzeit bei 20%, bei den Erstklässlern sogar bei 50%. Das war früher nicht so schlimm, erklärt mir die freundliche und engagierte Kroko-Besitzerin. Aber vielleicht schaffen wir es ja, Zähneputzen wieder in Mode zu bringen und Kroko ist dann sicherlich auch wieder dabei.
